4 Fun Facts About the Lamborghini Strosek Diablo
Lamborghini is one of the world’s most well-known super-car manufacturers. Throughout the years, it has built a reputation for creating some of the craziest super-cars in terms of appearance and driving performance. Under Audi’s ownership, however, it appears to have calmed down. It still builds amazing vehicles, but you don’t need a steel pair or hair on your chest to drive them.
The Diablo epitomizes Lamborghini’s bizarre ideology of imbuing a car with as much personality as a real individual. Here are 4 fun facts about the Lamborghini Strosek Diablo.
We Have Chrysler To Thank For The Diablo
Despite the company manufacturing some renowned models, financial difficulties plagued Lamborghini for a long time. Chrysler purchased the company for $25,200,000 in 1987. The new proprietors wasted no time in moving on with the development of a replacement for the Countach, and the Strosek Diablo was born in 1990.
It Has a Spanish Name
Many of Lamborghini’s vehicles bear the names of bulls, but the Diablo isn’t one of them. In Spanish, diablo means “devil.” Naming the Lambo Diablo after a bull wasn’t enough to convey its fiery personality.
However, according to reports, the car was also named after a real fighting bull named Diablo—so it was still officially named after a bull.
It Has the Second-Longest Production Run of Any Model
The Lamborghini Strosek Diablo was introduced in 1990 and continued to be built until 2001. Its 11-year production run is the second-longest of any other Lambo model. Only its forerunner, the Countach—which was produced for 16 years from 1974 to 1990—surpassed the Diablo.
The Cylinder Firing Order Is Printed on the Engine
Anyone who has seen inside a Diablo engine compartment has most likely observed a slew of numbers printed on the engine’s top, including the firing order for the 12 cylinders. Despite the fact that there were multiple variants of the Diablo, each with a different engine, the firing order stayed the same for all of them.
